Description
In One Piece, Yan Mo is a very famous big fast sword, crafted by Frost Moon Gengsaburo of the Kingdom of Harmony. The following is an introduction to hand forging the One Piece Yan Mo Pei Dao:
material selection
When forging the Yanmo sword by hand, high carbon steel and other steel suitable for forging swords and knives are usually used. High carbon steel can achieve high hardness and strength after heat treatment, making the blade sharp and wear-resistant. Like traditional jade steel, it is also a good choice as it can give swords unique performance and texture.
Craftsmanship
Forging: Heat the selected steel to a high temperature to soften it, and the blacksmith repeatedly strikes it with tools such as hammers to remove impurities and refine the grain size. By continuously folding and forging, the internal structure of the steel is made more compact and uniform, forming a unique forging texture, enhancing the strength and toughness of the blade, and giving the Yan Mo Pei Dao a unique texture and appearance.
Quenching: Heat the forged blade to the appropriate temperature and quickly place it in a cooling liquid such as water or oil to cool it, changing the structure of the steel and increasing its hardness. However, the internal stress generated by quenching can easily cause the blade to become brittle.
Tempering: Heat the blade again to a lower temperature and maintain it for a period of time before slowly cooling it down to eliminate internal stress, improve toughness, and achieve the best performance state of the tool by balancing rigidity and flexibility.
Grinding: Use grinding stones with different mesh sizes from coarse to fine to grind the blade. Firstly, use a rough grinding stone to remove the unevenness and burrs on the surface of the blade, and then gradually replace with finer grinding stones to make the surface of the blade smooth and achieve a mirror effect, while also maximizing the sharpness and uniformity of the blade.
Equipment production and assembly: Handmade tools such as knives, handles, sheaths, etc. Knife stones are generally made of metal materials such as copper, iron, etc., and are carved or cast with exquisite patterns for decoration. The handle of the knife is usually made of wooden materials such as cypress wood, and may also be wrapped with fish skin, silk thread, etc. to increase slip resistance and grip comfort. The scabbard is made of wood, with a metal or keratin sheath opening and tail, and some parts are also painted. Finally, the blade is assembled with the fixture.
Key points of appearance restoration
Blade: Yan Mo’s blade is usually slender with a certain curvature, and the blade is sharp. It gradually narrows from the blade root to the tip, and the tip is sharp. The blade may have unique patterns or colors, such as black purple.
Dao Liu: It has a three petal shape, which is an important characteristic of Yan Mo.
Sheath: Decorated with patterns, it is different from ordinary Japanese scabbard. When making it, attention should be paid to restoring its unique patterns and styles.
