Description

Craftsmanship
Hand forging: Craftsmen heat high manganese steel billets to high temperatures to make them plastic, and then repeatedly hammer them with tools such as hammers and hammers. During the hammering process, impurities in the steel are removed, the grain size is refined, the internal structure is made denser and more uniform, and a unique forging texture is formed to enhance the quality and aesthetics of the sword.
Six sided sword body crafting: When crafting a six sided sword body, craftsmen need to precisely control the angle, flatness, and size of each side to make the six sides symmetrical, smooth, and even in shape and thickness from the tip to the root. The craftsmanship requirements are high, reflecting the exquisite craftsmanship of hand forging.
Heat treatment: including quenching and tempering processes. Quenching gives the sword high hardness and strength, tempering eliminates the internal stress generated by quenching, adjusts the toughness of the sword, and achieves the best performance state by balancing rigidity and flexibility.
Grinding and polishing: Use grinding stones with different mesh sizes from coarse to fine to grind the sword body, remove surface unevenness, burrs, and forging marks, and then use polishing technology to make the surface of the sword body smooth like a mirror, enhancing the glossiness and texture of the sword, while achieving the best sharpness and uniformity of the blade.
Equipment and accessory production: Sword handles are often made of materials such as wood, bone, copper, etc. Some may also be wrapped with silk thread, leather, or fish skin to provide a good grip and comfort. The scabbard is usually made of wood and may have exquisite carvings, paints, or inlaid decorations on the surface. Accessories such as knives, knives, etc. will also use exquisite design and craftsmanship, and some will be inlaid with gemstones, gold and silver, etc., to increase the magnificence and value of the sword.
exterior design
Sword body
Six sided design: presenting a unique six sided shape, which appears as a regular hexagon in cross-section, with firm and regular lines, giving a sense of stability and grandeur. It is different from common four sided or eight sided sword bodies and has high recognition.
Fusion style: It combines the characteristics of Tang swords and Spring and Autumn Han swords. Perhaps the length, curvature, and width ratio of the sword body were inspired by the slender and smooth style of Tang swords, while the thickness and strength of the blade were borrowed from the thick and tough style of Spring and Autumn Han swords. The overall design not only reflects the magnificent atmosphere of Tang swords, but also the ancient and solemn style of Spring and Autumn Han swords.
Sword hilt: The length and shape conform to ergonomics, making it easy to grip. Traditional Chinese style design may be adopted, such as slightly thinner ends and slightly thicker middle, to provide better grip stability.
Sheath: Generally made of wood, the surface may be coated with traditional colors such as black and red paint, or may have exquisite carved patterns such as dragon and phoenix, cloud patterns, and ruyi patterns, which echo the style of the sword body and handle and reflect the rich traditional Chinese cultural characteristics.
Cultural connotation
Tang Sword Culture: The Tang sword was an important weapon and cultural symbol in the Tang Dynasty, representing the prosperity and strong national strength of the Tang Dynasty, and embodying the spirit of openness, inclusiveness, and progress of the times. Its design and craftsmanship have had a profound impact on the production of swords and knives in later generations.
The Spring and Autumn Period and Han Sword Culture: The Spring and Autumn Period was an important stage in the development of Chinese swordsmanship. Han swords further developed on the basis of inheriting previous generations and became a mature weapon and ceremonial tool, embodying the martial spirit of the Chinese nation and the pursuit of justice and courage.
